ARTEFACT SCREENINGS

Artefact commemorates the mysterious phenomenon of brand disappearance from Blackberry, to Nokia, to Atari. It is a tribute to the immortal consumer icons we have internationally adored and the intimate and fickle ways we worship them.

The Artefact film has been created by collaborators Willoh S.Weiland and JR Brennan with Finnish editor Kim Saarinen and is a testament to long distance collaboration. Following Artefact’s debut at ANTI Festival in Kuopio, Finland (2016) Aphids presents a screening of the work, debuting in film form as part of ACMI’s ART + FILM program. The work was also screened in Kuopio through ANTI Festival.

ART+FILM showcases films by leading Australian and international artists, with a focus on single-channel works that harness the unique conventions of cinema.
