FIELD THEORY IN ASSOCIATION WITH APHIDS, MELBOURNE FRINGE AND FEDERATION SQUARE

ICON

In 2018 Field Theory did a mass callout for people to enter the ICON lottery. People of all ages, from all over Victoria signed up. One winner was drawn and five artists took up residence in their life for 48 hours. They slept on the ICON’s lounge room floor, tried their breakfast, danced to their music and cleaned their cat litter.

On September 30th, at a massive event at Fed Square, the ICON was revealed to the public, along with 10 activations dedicated to the ICON’s life.

APHIDS acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Boon wurrung peoples on whose lands we live and work. Sovereignty was never ceded and we pay our respect to past, present, and future Aboriginal elders and community, and to their long and rich history of artmaking on this Country.
