ORIBOTICS [LABORATORY]

A live network of oribotic flowers presented as installation/laboratory/performance

Oribotics [laboratory] continued Matt Gardiner’s exploration of robotic origami, focusing on the natural beauty found in the mechanical motion of folded forms. Interact, relax and consider the growing relationship between biology and technology. With music by David Young, performed by Eugene Ughetti, sound design by Jethro Woodward and miniature percussion instruments by Rosemary Joy.

A short documentary about the APHIDS/Asialink presentation was screened on the ABC Sunday Arts Show on Sunday 2nd April 2006

Oribotics [laboratory] was supported by Arts Victoria; the Federal Government through the New Media Arts Board of the Australia Council- its arts funding and advisory body; the City of Melbourne, ElectroBlossom, Airstrip, Magna Tokyo Japan, Hotbeam and MadFish Fine Wine.
